Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe admits his side were bitterly disappointed to be eliminated from the Champions League but he’s urged them to get back on track, starting with Fulham at home in the Premier League on Saturday.

  1. It was in their own hands. Would've preferred for PSG to have lost, so that Milan can get second spot, but disappointed they didn't. 20 years ago, Newcastle lost their first three group games and then won their last three and went through. That was somewhat a miracle they pulled off back then. I'm not sure Newcastle will be back in the champions league next year, but they should within the next two years. Not that bothered, it's oil money from now on. Anything they've done before that was all them. Most happiest for teams like Brighton and Villa. Hoping Villa secure top 4 and then actually do better in the champions legsue next season. Let's see if they can go as far as Leicester. They were in pot one, so they had a better chance than teams like Newcastle and possibly Villa, if they secure champions league football
