Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah is fit, back in full training and in contention to return to the team for Saturday’s lunchtime trip to Brentford.

The Egyptian returned early from the Africa Cup of Nations with a hamstring injury but now looks set to play again for the Reds for the first time since scoring twice against Newcastle on New Year’s Day.

Klopp also hit back at suggestions Alexander-Arnold’s latest knee problem may have been impacted by him returning too quickly from a previous knee injury.

  1. i’d still start diaz jota and nunez cus firstly they’re all in form and secondly we shouldn’t need salah for this game. Obviously put him in the squad and if we’re not winning with 30 minutes to go bring him on but u wouldn’t start him just incase he has a set back just like trent has with the same injury. Him being fit for the city game in a few weeks is vital because he always scores against them especially at anfield and that’s the 6 pointer game. You’d rather draw against brentford and beat city than beat brentford and lose to city cus beating city takes 3 points off them aswell as giving us 3

  2. forcing a player back is hardly a thing, unless it’s for the final couple games of the season or a final no player gets forced back. They’re intelligent enough to know that it’s more important to have a player for the remaining 20-30 games than to rush them back for one game. They played trent against arsenal because they had to, bradley’s grandad just died so he wasn’t in the squad and gomez was left back we had no one else.

  3. There’s a good chance these next 4 months will be the final time Klopp and Salah are at Liverpool. Let’s enjoy and hopefully end their time here with silverware.

  4. This players should retire from international duties they told us that he will miss up to 3 weeks of football and barely 2 weeks he's back and in contention for this weekend's game.
