Darren Lewis and Charlotte Duncker discussed Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Manchester United and where it is going wrong for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Newcastle ran out comfortable winners thanks to Anthony Gordon’s goal 10 minutes after half-time, but could have enjoyed a greater margin of victory given their level of dominance at St James’ Park.

The result brought Man Utd’s recent resurgence to another abrupt halt and raised more questions about their ability to compete with top-half teams, with seven of their eight wins this season coming against sides ranked 13th or lower in the current Premier League standings.

  1. Every other team seems to be progressing while we seem to be regressing…we don't play with any fighting spirit..some of the guys just seem to be happy with going through the drills and waiting to pick up their pay cheque at the end of the week…I'm not sure what is though..is it the tactics or is it the mentality of the players?…either way, something have to change…this is not the type of club where the supporters are uncertain about the performance that will be delivered from their beloved team…some of these guys simply do not care enough about winning or giving their ALL and be willing to leave it all on the pitch… and in spite of all of that, I STILL LOVE MANCHESTER UNITED with ALL my heart.. ❤️‍🔥👹❤️‍🔥

  2. I'm appalled by Rashford's performance. Rashford, Martial, McTominay, Maguire and Dalot needs to leave. They either have bad attitude, or they're not good enough or both. They've sacked too many managers now.

  3. Resurgence to describe Man U run until facing Newcastle, is stupid, the only good game they had this season, where they were comfortable winning, was against Everton.

  4. The table that shows last season and this seasons Man Utd’s away results against the teams that finished in the top 9 last season was deeply embarrassing.
A single point in 11 games is shocking for any team.

  5. There was never a resurgence. We're in flux. We're a team that can't even keep our formation on the pitch. We lack the winning mentality but seem to have the whining mentality down. I've written off this season even with 24 PL games to go if this is how we'll keep playing.

  6. Please stop saying "resurgence".What's the idea behind starting Rashford and Mactominay when they're offering nothing!?.horendous tactical decisions from the manager!.what's his style of play!?

  7. The "Resurgence" was a false positive, I'm sorry, they beat the small teams at the bottom of the log. they have no idea how to play against any credible teams. This managers tactics wont help, and he's got no idea how to motivate and inspire his players to play. I dont think him or his support staff have what it takes to take this team to the next level.

  8. Why is sky pushing that man utd where in form? In the 5 games before this game they won 3, drew 1 and lost 1 and the 2 games prior to that they got smashed 3 nil in back to back games. Where exactly is the form??

  9. Resurgence? Do you mean Man U beating, relegation teams and celebrating like they just won a treble? I was wrong about 10 Hag I said he was on the same level as Ollie, but his actually worse. On behalf of all Liverpool fans around the world , please Man U give this man a 5 year extension and 500m to spend. I want 10 Hag to bring in some more "ballers" like Onana, Mount, Anthony etc.

  10. What bunch of nonsensical punditry! United' s goals against Everton were not individual moments of brilliance! And what if they were? United had come into the game without conceding in 5+hrs

  11. 'a team doesnt need a real leader anymore, football has changed' yet more excuses for man united. most other teams have a captain that actually takes charge of the team and leads them. arsenal, man city, liverpool, newcastle. pretty much every team bar man united have a decent captain
